Biography

Simeon’s scientific achievements include the fabrication of InAs/GaSb superlattice photodetectors operating at 10 µm with the world’s lowest dark current for this material system and the realization of the brightest room-temperature single-photon source based on a nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond. Simeon received an NSF CAREER Award in 2022 and is a Senior Member of Optica. He serves as a reviewer for journals such as Nature Communications, Optica, Nano Letters, Physical Review Letters, Optics Express, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Letters, Optical Materials Express, Nanophotonics and Photonics Research.
